FFL Transfers &
NFA Item Processing

Defiance Tactical is a licensed Federal Firearms Licensee offering professional inbound firearm transfers, NFA item processing, and private-party transfer services. Whether you purchased a precision rifle online, are awaiting a suppressor approval, or need a trusted dealer to receive a receiver for your next custom build, our team handles the paperwork, compliance, and secure storage so you can take possession with confidence.

// OVERVIEW

A Compliant Transfer Partner for Every Firearm

As a full-service FFL, Defiance Tactical receives firearms purchased from online retailers, distributors, and private sellers across the country. Every inbound transfer is logged into our ATF-compliant bound book, inspected for condition and serial number accuracy, and stored in our secure facility until you are ready to complete the transfer.

Our NFA processing covers suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, and other Title II items. We walk you through the Form 4 application, help you decide between an individual registration and a gun trust, and coordinate with your transferring dealer to keep the paperwork moving. Once the ATF returns an approved form, we schedule your pickup and complete the transfer in accordance with all federal and state requirements.

We also support private-party transfers for buyers and sellers conducting face-to-face transactions. A licensed dealer intermediary ensures the buyer clears a background check and that the sale is documented properly, protecting both parties and keeping the transaction lawful. Whether you are building a custom rifle from a stripped receiver or adding a suppressor to your precision platform, our transfer desk is built to keep your project moving without compliance gaps.

// THE PROCESS

Three Steps to a Clean Transfer

01 //

Place Your Order

Purchase your firearm, receiver, or NFA item from any online retailer, auction site, or private seller. At checkout, select Defiance Tactical as the receiving FFL. We accept transfers from licensed dealers and validly documented private-party sales across all 50 states where the item is legal to possess.

02 //

Send Your Transfer Request

Email us the seller's contact information, your order number, and a description of the firearm being shipped. We reply with our current FFL license and the shipping address for the transferring dealer. Most transfers are acknowledged within one business day.

03 //

Track & Receive

Once the firearm arrives, we log it into our bound book and notify you that it is ready for pickup. You complete the required ATF Form 4473, pass the NICS background check, and take possession of your transfer. The entire inbound process typically takes three to five business days from shipment to pickup.

// FAQ

Transfer Questions, Answered

What is the transfer fee for a standard firearm?

Our standard inbound transfer fee covers receipt, logging, storage, and the 4473 processing for one firearm. NFA items, suppressors, and short-barreled rifles carry a separate transfer fee due to the additional paperwork and wait times involved with ATF Form 4 approval.

Can you handle NFA and Title II transfers?

Yes. Defiance Tactical is licensed to receive National Firearms Act items including suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, and machine guns where legal. We guide you through the Form 4 process, assist with trust or individual registration, and hold your item until approval is returned by the ATF.

Do I need to be a resident to pick up a transferred firearm?

You must be a legal resident of the state where the transfer is completed and legally able to possess the firearm. Long guns can generally be transferred to residents of adjacent states in compliance with federal law, while handguns must be transferred to residents of the state where the receiving FFL is located.

How long does an NFA transfer take?

ATF processing times for Form 4 applications currently range from a few days to several months depending on exam volume and whether the application is submitted as an individual or through a gun trust. We provide status updates and hold your approved item securely until you are cleared to take possession.
